Upon uploading this I realized it saves even more in lava lair C than this. Jhay already went through the life up get animation so it probably saves about a second more. 1.67s is a lot more worth it considering you'd probably only lose like 3-4 if you fail.
Trick explanation:
I aim for the right most part of the wall because slightly left of that is weird geometry that can sometimes give you a glitchy wall jump leaving you incapable of wall jumping up.
Lava lair c:
After that, I long jump and line up with the line on the floor and do a jump and instant nunchuk spin to increase the window for the lava boost. I then anticipate when 2p's shadow will go off the edge and that is the moment that I ground pound. You want to hold forward the entire time so you don't accidentally hold neutral during the lava wall boost and lose time.
During the lava wall boost, you want to correct yourself up right a bit, I usually shift the stick up right twice and then back to up until I pass by the first question block. In lava lair 1, you also want to freeze the thwomp for a short amount of time so you can attempt the thwomp push.
Lava lair 1 part:
For the thwomp push, I do an a held double jump and A held wiimote spin and then a no a held nunchuk spin and try to aim for the arch of his slam. This never kills you, but sometimes won't push you as far as you see in this clip.
The rest is as normal.
