G'day everyone,

This is the second part in the series where I attempt to rebuild the lathes cross slide. My aim is to make it longer, heavier, more rigid, and most importantly to me, have t-slots. In the previous episode I took the steel (not my preferred material but it was the only material I could realistically get in the correct size without having to pay for 3m of the stuff) and cut it down to size, and machined in the t-slots and dovetail channel.

In this video my aim is to make the new gib strip (one which will be much longer) and fix the mounting bracket for the DRO.

This project is still a work in process and my aim to have it done by the end of the month. I hope you enjoy the video.
