G'day everyone,

I often get asked about the cost of tooling for a mini lathe. It is easy to think that tooling can be expensive, and that can certainly be true. You can easily spend more on tooling than you will spend on the lathe itself, however I do not think that it is a good or useful metric for estimating how much you will realistically be spending to get into the hobby.

From my first hand experience starting out with nothing I know that the cost of getting started is much less, and with careful planning the overall cost of tooling can be spread out over the course of years. In this video I will go over how much I spent to get started and when I bough the tooling.
