As summer draws to a close South Korea is once again being battered by monsoon-like downpours with the threat of further rainfall moving north into the central region.
Chung Hye-lim covers the weather.

Heavy rain is sweeping across South Korea on the final day of August, with torrential downpours forecast for parts of the central and southwestern regions.
A stationary front has formed over the country as warm, humid air from the North Pacific High collides with cooler air from the north.
The Korea Meteorological Administration says rain clouds have intensified particularly over the western part of the country, bringing heavy rain.
Some of the heaviest rain has fallen in Yeonggwang-gun County in Jeollanam-do Province.
Nakwol Island received more than 3-hundred 45 millimeters of rain between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Dozens of rain-related damage reports were filed across the region.
Two residents were rescued after becoming trapped in a flooded home, but no casualties were reported in the region.
More rain is expected as the stationary front gradually moves north.
Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheongnam-do Province could receive 80 to 150 millimeters through Tuesday, with more than 200 millimeters possible in some areas.
Parts of southern Gyeonggi-do Province and Gangwon-do Province could see more than 1-hundred 20 millimeters.
The government has raised its heavy rain crisis alert from “attention” to “caution,” while keeping its Level One emergency response in place.
Authorities are urging extra caution against flash flooding, landslides, and other rain-related accidents, especially in areas where the ground is already saturated from repeated downpours.
