As a landscape photographer I use both wide angle lenses and photographic filters. In order to go crazy about 8 months ago I purchased the LAOWA 12mm f2.8 lens. I opted for this due to its claim of almost zero distortion, a claim I can state is true.
An incredibly wide and fast lens for Astro Photography and the majority of wide angle, long exposure imagery that I take particularly of the Ocean and shorelines.
But there's a problem!
Check out this video where I take a closer look at this filter holder and find what I believe to be a design oversight in its form factor. There are some very positive points to it such as its mounting and coupling mode, but for me it fails big time when it matters most.
See if you also agree with my points in the video. I think a tremendous oversight by the manufacturers which clarifies why it seems to be such a good deal, price wise, when bundling it with the lens purchase, as I opted to do.
