Landscape photography trip out exploring Rannoch Moor during the Scottish winter.
After a few days of heavy snow the entire place had been turned into a stunning winter wonderland.
We had no idea how deep the snow was and actually took us by surprise and made for a hard slog hiking about on the frozen moor. However we were a handful of photographers that had braved the trip up on the icy roads and had this stunning winter wonderland almost entirely to ourselves.
The trip also let me share my trip with another landscape photographer Alistair Mann and the lucky chance to bump into a full time professional photographer Julian Elliot. You can check out there links listed below.
Days out in the Scottish scenery donโt get much better than this and I am really hoping that the snow returns and that wasnโt going to be the only major snowfall of the season.

Backpacking & wild camping trip to try and complete all 11 Munro summits around Glenshee over 36 Hours with one night wild camping.
Did know my latest challenge was going to be hard going but by the time I got to the end I hadnโt realised just how demanding. For the majority of the trip weather was on my side and the scenery stunning as always.
Overall a fantastic mini adventure and enjoyed every minute of it although suffering and aching for a good part of it. Most folks could do the route a lot quicker and easier, but stopping to film and compose shots takes a lot of time and adds to an already long distance day.
One thing I did learn from the trip is to take a lot higher energy snacks to help boost my energy levels as I did not take nearly enough to eat for the amount of effort required as it did make me feel a bit ill at times.
