"This has weathered a lot of storms," City Engineer Giovanni Zinn told Gov. Ned Lamont during a tour of the carousel building, but it was "a no-name thunderstorm" that brought the building "just one or two gusts from losing the whole thing."

Zinn said the structure is currently stabilized by shoring equipment, but city officials are looking into how a historic building from the early 20th Century can be restored and reinforced when records at the time of construction were less substantive and thorough.
