Lakeside Chapala and Ajijic's festive Carnaval displayed plenty of revelry that could be heard all along the lake. The "farewell to flesh" is a tradition of raucous and public carousing that is common place during this event that precedes six weeks of solemn Lenten fasting and penitence. And the participants in this parade did not disappoint. It was a high-spirited parade with plenty of mal humor to entertain the spectators of all ages.
