The testimony of Vice President Sara Duterte’s security officer Dante Lachica could introduce untested claims that may put the prosecution’s case at risk. That’s according to House prosecution panel spokesman Ace Barbers. Barbers said Lachica could introduce new assertions that the panel had not previously heard or had the opportunity to test. However, he stressed that Lachica’s testimony would not automatically overturn the evidence already presented. This is in connection with the prosecution’s case on the alleged irregular disbursement and use of confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President. Barbers said the prosecution is weighing whether to call Lachica as a possible hostile witness in the impeachment trial of Vice President Duterte.
