In the days since I recorded this, the Labour mayor and her son have been found guilty.

A former Labour mayor helped her son hide evidence of his rape, torture and filming of a 15 year old girl he'd plied with drugs and vodka.

Naheed Ejaz, the former mayor of Bracknell in Berkshire, delayed police officers when they came to arrest her son, 41-year-old Diwan Khan.

She stopped officers entering her home for several minutes and spoke to her son in Urdu to assist him in concealing a phone, which contained a video of him raping and choking the 15 year old girl.

This fits a pattern we've seen across the Rape Gang scandal where the families and communities of the perpetrators protect those accused and even turn up in court to shout abuse at the victims.
