Guardian columnist Zoe Williams knows why women don't play alongside men in football. It's because the women are too good, and the male footballers resent their superior skill.

Now we know that this obviously isn't true, because we're not insane. But Zoe is a top commentator - one of the leading minds of her generation (well, one of the leading minds at the Guardian). The fact that she resolutely believes this as empirical fact is because academia and science have been utterly corrupted and are now basically theological. They have all these religious rules that have to be followed:

Diversity is a strength

Climate change is bad

Women are better than men

Any academic study has to fit the data to match those beliefs, much as a mediaeval astronomer would have to fit his data to show that the sun revolves around the earth.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: the only scientists and professors you can trust are bigots.
