Mexican folklore tells of a woman who was mistreated and abandoned by her husband. In her grief, she coldly drowned her two sons in a nearby lake, before she herself died of a broken heart. Now it is said that this woman rose from her grave as a phantom who prowls the riverbanks and lakeshores at night, wailing for her children and attacking those who cross her path. Her name is La Llorona, and this is her legend!
