In chapter 11 of the Book of Genesis in the Bible, the descendants of Noah and his family make their way to a vast plain and, upon settling, decide on building a great city, the centerpiece of which being a great tower. This tower, which would come to be known as Babel, was said to be so tall that it pierced heaven, and in its completion, the human race would make a name for themselves. But things never go as planned in stories of the Old Testament, especially when the builders suddenly lose the ability to communicate with one another!
