Corelli - 'La Folia' for Viola: Variation 6 - Poco meno mosso.

Day 5 of a video journal of me attempting the theme and its 24 variations of Arcangelo Corelli's 'La Folia' op. 5, no. 12 for viola and piano.
For this recording, I wrote in my own variation 6 to sound more in line with the way it seems to always sound based on other recordings I've heard for violin an as a concerto grosso by Geminiani. The editors wanted this played up in third position on the A and D strings with a different pattern and I didn't especially care for the way it sounded. Apologies to the editors yet again!
This recording is dedicated in memory of my Mesquite Symphony Orchestra stand partner, Ed Norris (Sep. 1929 - Jun. 2020), whom passed away just recently. Ed was always a pleasure to play with and we often kept each other in check in rehearsal and in concert. He was so enthusiastic about playing and brightened up our viola section with his humor and humility. He will be missed and I hope he's turning pages on stage with the angels. Rest in peace, Ed.
