This is our interpretation of Kunidaado Krishna, a popular composition of Purandara Dasa, cheering Krishna to Kuni (Dance) on the serpent. It is in Raaga Hamsaanandi and set to Aditaala. The call and response between Veena and Konnokol in the beginning was inspired by the Kaalinga Narthana Thillana, presented by Aruna Sairam and Jayanthi Kumaresh. Towards the end, we present a Murchana/ Grahabedham to Raaga Hindolam and Raaga Madhyamavathi, inspired by a concert from Ranjani-Gayathri. We offer our humble pranams to the maestros and hope that you enjoy this version of Kunidaado Krishna.
