This performance is a special mashup of two lovely songs, one from a Hindi film and the other a Tamil Thillana by the legendary Lalgudi G. Jayaraman Sir. Two excellent musicians, Malavika Sundar and Vinod Krishnan, combined and performed both songs. These songs are in Desh Rag set to Adi Thal.
The Tamil Thillana shows the Bakthi Rasa praising Lord Muruga, whereas the Hindi song highlights the love between Krishna and the gopikas and features the Srngara Rasa. To differentiate between the krishna and the Muruga part, the dancers have used a veil and Dandiya while portraying the gopikas.
