A rainy and unsettled start to the week is underway, with heavy rain falling across central regions and the Jeolla-do provinces this morning, with some parts seeing around 50 millimeters of rain per hour.
The rain will become heavier. The Chungcheong-do provinces could receive more than 200 millimeters of downpours through tomorrow; Seoul and northern parts of Gyeonggi-do Province could see 30 to 80 millimeters of rain.
In fact, heavy rain alerts are being issued in Chungcheongnam-do and the west of Jeolla-do. Rain will bring heat relief in central Korea, but southern provinces will remain hot with heat alerts in place.
Busan will get up to 34 degrees Celsius, Daegu and Gwangju at 32 degrees, while Seoul tops out at 26 degrees.
Rain will continue through tomorrow morning, and with the ground becoming saturated, the risk of landslides and flooding is rising, so please stay alert.
