Welcome to the seventh episode of my new series of shorts that I am doing on YouTube, Kingdom Hearts Obscure Items & Hidden Chests. In this series I aim to compile all the collectibles which are not very well known, very hard to obtain or well hidden.
Today we are in the Hollow Bastion where we can find one of the most well hidden chests in the game, containing one of the rarest items, a Dark Matter. The chest is inside the Waterway in Hollow Bastion but if you don't know where this is it can be quite tricky. So starting from the Castle Gates instead, go down the steps and examine the red crystal near the edge of the platform to take you down to the Base Level. From here jump inside the bubble to the right, closest the ground. This takes you to the Waterway.
Now the Waterway actually has a save point, meaning if you have stepped on this save point before you can land here from the Gummi Ship Menu. Either way go past the save point and through the broken wall to go deeper into the Waterway (this wall is broken open by Beast and is necessary to progress in the story so if you have completed Hollow Bastion this will be open already). Past the broken wall is a bubble and if you cast Blizzard magic on these bubble in Hollow Bastion they will freeze to create a platform for a few seconds. Take this opportunity to freeze the bubble and high jump from the newly created platform to the top of the broken wall we just walked through. Up here there is a platform with a chest on top and if you carefully make your way across, you can open it to get a Dark Matter. Look out for more episodes in the series & you might discover some items you never knew about!
