[New Wave/Synth Pop/Pop/Electronic] Here is the British trio PhD with their 1981 self titled first album: Ph.D. Excellent New Wave album that was HUGE in 1982 around Europe but not in the states. People in Europe actually classify this album as one of the best albums from the 1980s and hey i cant lie its pretty good. A shame it really didnt make an impact in the united states, the synth work on these tracks is excellent and it surely would make Giorgio Moroder jealous in my opinion, lol. The band took its name from the initial letters of its three members last names; Phillips, Hymas and Diamond. The groups members were: Jim Diamond, Simon Phillips, and Tony Hymas, and they had a UK Top 10 hit with my favorite track on the album titled: I Wont Let You Down (Track 5) in April 1982 although the song had been a hit the previous year throughout Europe. Sadly, vocalist Jim Diamond died from a pulmonary edema while he was sleeping on October 8th, 2015. This album was released under WEA Records, Voiceprint Records, and Atlantic Records 81.

[Disco/Funk/Soul] Here is the OST soundtrack for the B-movie slasher film: Prom Night. I know this strays from the usual music i tend to upload but i love this soundtrack a lot. Its got this Studio 54 vibe to it, and every track is PURE Disco from 1979/1980. The movie stars Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween) and Leslie Nielsen (Airplane/Naked Gun). Despite receiving generally negative reviews from film critics as well as criticism from Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert over its advertising campaign, the film went on to become Canadas highest-grossing horror film of 1980, earning nearly $15,000,000 in the United States....it even spawned a remake in 2008. This soundtrack was composed by Paul Zaza and Carl Zittrer, with additional writing by Bill Crutchfield and James Powell. It also has songs by Blue Bazar and Gordean Simpson. Under orders from producer Peter Simpson, Zaza wrote a series of disco songs over a five-day period, closely copying the original tracks that were intended to be used in the film. This resulted in a copyright lawsuit for $10 million, which was eventually settled for $50,000; thus it was only released in Japan on LP and cassette (Btw, this is the LP Vinyl). A 7-inch single of All Is Gone (Track 1&6) and Forever (Track 10) was also released; however, neither of these songs appears in the film. :/ This soundtrack album is highly sought after by fans of the film and disco fans alike (which is why Anthonys Channel has uploaded it for everyone to listen to). This complete OST soundtrack was released under RCA Records 80.
UPDATE: In May of 2019, Perseverance Records finally released the first official CD of the Prom Night soundtrack. Perseverance worked closely with Carl Zittrer and Paul Zaza to locate and unearth the original masters and all score music recorded for the film including unreleased disco songs and score not used in the final production, never heard before anywhere. This video however showcases the ORIGINAL 1980 vinyl album (which for roughly 40 years was the only official release of the soundtrack, enjoy!).

[Synth/Ambient/Stage & Screen/Various Artists/Score/OST] Here is the complete La-La Land Records soundtrack release to Paramount Pictures horror sequel: FRIDAY THE 13th PART VIII – JASON TAKES MANHATTAN (1989). This soundtrack was released by La-La Land Records & Paramount Pictures with only 2000 copies in existence. The score is entirely composed by well acclaimed musician Fred Mollin and is the first FRIDAY film score at the time to not be composed or co-composed by Harry Manfredini. This release also features four bonus tracks from the film: The Darkest Side of the Night (Instrumental), Broken Dream, J.J.s Blues and Livin In The City. All four of these bonus tracks remained unreleased for 30 some odd years ...until now. I do remember reading somewhere that according to Stan Meissner, Broken Dream by Terry Crawford and J.J.s Blues were never finished and what you hear in the film is pretty much all that there is. Never the less it is great that Stan Meissner and Fred Mollin finally released them in its entirety from their personal archives for this release. Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan is a 1989 American slasher film written and directed by Rob Hedden, and starring Jensen Daggett, Scott Reeves, Peter Mark Richman, and Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhees. It is the eighth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise and follows Jason as he stalks a group of high school graduates on a ship en-route to New York City. Fred Mollin is an American and Canadian record producer, musician, film and TV composer, music director, music supervisor, and songwriter. He has produced records for Jimmy Webb, Johnny Mathis, Billy Ray Cyrus, Lamont Dozier and America, and has composed music for Beverly Hills 90210, Forever Knight, Hard Copy, and Friday the 13th (movies and television). Overall, when it comes to composing FRIDAY THE 13th PART VIII, Mollin pushes forward his inventive use of industrial percussion, synth pads, rhythmic looping, synthesized strings, woodwinds and skull-pounding dissonance, resulting in a unique and notable work of electronic scoring. This complete OST soundtrack score was released under La-La Land Records & Paramount Pictures 89 (2021).

[New Wave/Synth Rock/Melodic Rock/Pop/Pop Rock/Rock/Glam Rock] Here is British singer/songwriter Graham Grace with his second self titled debut album: Shining Knight. An amazing AOR/New Wave album that is surprisingly pretty obscure. Its obscurity is a little shocking considering the fact that it is available on vinyl, cassette AND compact disc. Whats even more surprising is that there really isnt too much data on graham grace online. I do know his real name is Graham Gibbon and I also know that he had another album in 1975 titled Hail Me under the moniker of Grame Grace but even that album is pretty obscure. This album includes the excellent single: Follow Me Follow You (Track 1) which really should have been a hit. That really is the stand out track here along with the relatively catchy: Donna (Track 3). With that said there really isnt much more to tell about graham other than he did a music video for Follow Me Follow You (Track 1). Overall, Even though there are only eight songs on the album, they are all AOR/New Wave standouts that deserve better recognition. Curious what Graham is up to now? Hopefully we get an update one day. This album was released under Palace Records 86.

[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Score/New Wave/Various Artists/OST] Here is the highly sought after super rare / unreleased complete soundtrack & score to the film that gave 80s kids nightmares for a long time: The Gate (1987); All of which is composed and conducted by Michael Hoeing and J. Peter Robinson. This video brings together all the score material composed for the film including unused (alternate) material that didnt make it into the movie. The video also has every single song used / heard throughout the film, including the impossible to find & unbelievably rare track titled: Love Will Find A Way by Vince Carlucci. This is definitely a real treat for fans of the movie as I know people have been looking YEARS for these songs (not to mention the score as well). See a soundtrack to this movie was never officially released and over the years the film has become somewhat of a cult classic. The Gate is a 1987 horror film directed by Tibor Takács and starring Stephen Dorff (yes, Deacon Frost from the first Blade movie) in his film debut and follows two young boys who accidentally release a horde of demons from their backyard through a large hole in the ground. The film also stars Christa Denton as Al and Louis Tripp as Terrence Terry Chandler. Michael Hoenig is a German composer who is credited with a number of film and television scores, including a few other horror films some of you may be familiar with. He wrote the score for the 1988 remake of The Blob, the 1990 sci-fi/horror film Class of 1999, and the direct-to-video b-movie Dracula 3000. J. Peter Robinson is an English-born composer who has also composed scores for multiple movies and a number of notable horror movies. The films popularity at the time went on to spawn a sequel (which i personally like and cant understand why people hate it). Overall, i know that the music for this film is a gem that everyone has been looking for so i am happy to upload it and finally end this endless search once and for all. [Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/Score/OST] Here is a special video done for all you Ghostbusters fans. This is my personal UNRELEASED Soundtrack score for the film: Ghostbusters 2 by Randy Edelman. Let me begin by saying that this video was the hardest video that i have ever made / uploaded to my channel! Working on this audio was A PAIN!!!! Im pretty satisfied with the results but i feel i could have done better, never the less it makes me so upset that Edelman STILL hasnt officially released the scores for this film. Maybe these composed tracks were made solely for the film and it was never intended to release them (if this is the case then that is a crime). This score gets a mixed bag from ghostbusters fans, some like it/consider it one of Edelmans best efforts, and would like a score release. Some consider it irrelevant next to Elmer Bernsteins original and dont want a score release (because if its released they *have* to buy it, right?) lol. Me personally, this is easily one of Edelmans best scores ....Hands down. He doesnt use the Ghostbusters theme unfortunately but what he did write for this film was great stuff. His score was one of the best things about the movie anyway. OF COURSE Elmer Bernsteins score (from 1984 Ghostbusters) is great because ...well its Bernstein! However, you have to give Edelman some credit and it wasnt his fault the movie didnt do so hot (personally it didnt do so hot because it was up with some heavy movie competition in the summer of 1989 ...Ex: Batman). Regardless, he did his best and his score is one of the things that really worked for this film; it captured the dark mood that the director was trying to convey. All in all, its unfortunate that after all these years a score still hasnt been released and i can almost bet money that my work in this video is going to be the CLOSEST THING youll ever get to an official one. I put a lot of work into this so please enjoy ...this is for you Edelman. This complete OST soundtrack score is unreleased and has no distribution label 89.
Please note that i tried removing all the SFX as best as i could, Anthonys Channel always strides for clean MP3s; i can assure you this video will be the only video posted with some embedded SFX, remember alot of Edelmans scores in the film are like fused with the SFXs, lol. However, most of the tracks in this video are cleaned and have no SFXs, just a few have them ...enjoy!

[New Jack Swing/R&B/Funk/Soul/Pop] Here is New Jack (RnB/Swing) artist Grady Harrell II s third and final album released in 1990 titled: Romance Me. An excellent album that unfortunately has faded away into obscurity. His voice kind of reminds me of Michael Jackson (and many fans of his have also made that connection). He originally played and worked on stage alongside with various music groups such as: Shalamar, Lakeside, and The Whispers. Apparently, Harrell was originally supposed to be the lead singer for Shalamar but in the end, R&B singer Howard Hewitt beat him out of the role. After loosing the Shalamar deal, Harrell went on to release two albums prior to this one: Mwana in 1984 by MCA Records, and Come Play With Me! in 1989 with RCA Records. Both albums did fairly well, with his second one being executive produced by the great Stevie Wonder. With that said, it is unknown how well (or if) this third album (Romance Me) performed in terms of sales and distribution. A shame because I personally think that this release is his best work. However, I do know that: Dont Turn Your Back On Me (Track 7) peaked at # 40 on Billboards Hot Black Singles chart for 10 weeks; and Patience (Track 1) peaked at # 52 on Billboards Hot R&B Singles chart, and stayed on it for at least 8 weeks. After this album, Grady spent the rest of the 90s touring with the Dazz Band and he even went on to star as Jackie Wilson in stage plays. These days, he is still doing music with his band called: Groove City. This album was released under RCA Records 90.

[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/Score/OST] Here is the complete film score to the legendary 1984 B-Movie Horror film: C.H.U.D. (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers) composed by Martin Cooper & David A. Hughes. This complete score was finally released on vinyl back in 2015 by Waxwork Records. For roughly 31 years an official soundtrack to this film was never released and the score material seemed almost impossible to obtain. Whats awesome about the tracks in this video is that they were all extracted and remastered from the original master tapes (meaning that these are the actual authentic tapes that were sent in to the sound editors when they placed the scores in the movie). Let me begin by saying that I couldnt thank Waxwork Records enough because this is one of my all time favorite horror synth scores (hands down!). Rolling Stone even lists this amazing score at number 33 out of 35 in their article titled: 35 Greatest Horror Soundtracks (and I couldnt agree more). If you guys are fans of early 80s synthesizer work done by John Carpenter and Alan Howarth than youll LOVE this score. Tracks like: Entering The Tunnels (Track 4), Blood Shower! (Track 17) & Cityscape (Track 18) are so symbolic to their work its almost as if they could be apart of the scores to 1981s Escape from New York or 1983s Christine. C.H.U.D. is a 1984 American science fiction horror film directed by Douglas Cheek and produced by Andrew Bonime. The title of the movie stands for: Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers but is also referred to as: Contamination Hazard Urban Disposal by some characters in the film. The plot is about a NYC police officer and a shelter manager whom discover the homeless are being taken & transformed into humanoid monsters that live below the city. Through the years, C.H.U.D has gained a devoted cult following amongst B-Movie Horror fans. The film is widely referenced in pop culture to this day via The Simpsons, Archer and more. C.H.U.D. has also served as a launching pad for a bunch of iconic actors such as: John Goodman, Daniel Stern, Kim Greist, Christopher Curry, and John Heard. Both Martin Cooper & David A. Hughes were once members of the legendary British new wave group Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD). Upon briefly leaving the group in 1981, Cooper and Hughes composed numerous synth instrumentals. Some of these instrumentals came to the attention of Warner Bros. whom eventually hired the two to do the score for CHUD. According to Cooper, they recorded the score at Amazon Recording Studios in Liverpool on a borrowed emulator sampler synth from OMD, and a Roland SH1. He also states that this score is quite possibly one of the earliest (if not the first!) film score to use sampling techniques as the emulator used was one of the firsts in existence. Overall, this primitive synth score composed by Martin Cooper and David Hughes is a historic collage of electronic compositions that captures the seedy, grim landscape that once embodied early 1980s New York City to its highest regard. This complete OST soundtrack score was released under Waxwork Records 2015 (84).
