[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/Score/OST] Here is the complete film score to the legendary 1984 B-Movie Horror film: "C.H.U.D." (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers) composed by Martin Cooper & David A. Hughes. This complete score was finally released on vinyl back in 2015 by Waxwork Records. For roughly 31 years an official soundtrack to this film was never released and the score material seemed almost impossible to obtain. Whats awesome about the tracks in this video is that they were all extracted and remastered from the original master tapes (meaning that these are the actual authentic tapes that were sent in to the sound editors when they placed the scores in the movie). Let me begin by saying that I couldn't thank Waxwork Records enough because this is one of my all time favorite horror synth scores (hands down!). Rolling Stone even lists this amazing score at number 33 out of 35 in their article titled: "35 Greatest Horror Soundtracks" (and I couldn't agree more). If you guys are fans of early 80's synthesizer work done by John Carpenter and Alan Howarth than you'll LOVE this score. Tracks like: "Entering The Tunnels" (Track 4), "Blood Shower!" (Track 17) & "Cityscape" (Track 18) are so symbolic to their work it's almost as if they could be apart of the scores to 1981's "Escape from New York" or 1983's "Christine". C.H.U.D. is a 1984 American science fiction horror film directed by Douglas Cheek and produced by Andrew Bonime. The title of the movie stands for: "Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers" but is also referred to as: "Contamination Hazard Urban Disposal" by some characters in the film. The plot is about a NYC police officer and a shelter manager whom discover the homeless are being taken & transformed into humanoid monsters that live below the city. Through the years, C.H.U.D has gained a devoted cult following amongst B-Movie Horror fans. The film is widely referenced in pop culture to this day via The Simpsons, Archer and more. C.H.U.D. has also served as a launching pad for a bunch of iconic actors such as: John Goodman, Daniel Stern, Kim Greist, Christopher Curry, and John Heard. Both Martin Cooper & David A. Hughes were once members of the legendary British new wave group Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD). Upon briefly leaving the group in 1981, Cooper and Hughes composed numerous synth instrumentals. Some of these instrumentals came to the attention of Warner Bros. whom eventually hired the two to do the score for "CHUD". According to Cooper, they recorded the score at Amazon Recording Studios in Liverpool on a 'borrowed' emulator sampler synth from OMD, and a Roland SH1. He also states that this score is quite possibly one of the earliest (if not the first!) film score to use sampling techniques as the emulator used was one of the firsts in existence. Overall, this primitive synth score composed by Martin Cooper and David Hughes is a historic collage of electronic compositions that captures the seedy, grim landscape that once embodied early 1980's New York City to it's highest regard. [Rock/Ambient/Modern Classical/Score/Contemporary/Orchestration/OST] Here is the RARE & UNRELEASED COMPLETE FILM SCORE to the classic Herbert Ross film that put Kevin Bacon on the map, 1984 s Footloose, all of which is composed by Miles Goodman. I recently noticed that an official soundtrack score for 1984 s Footloose has never been released to the public after all these years. Due to this, I have decided to share with you my personal custom made complete soundtrack score album to Footloose 84 (with each track in proper order from when you hear them in the film). Literally this is every single piece of score material that is found within the movie. Obviously with iconic songs like Deniece Williams s Lets Hear It For The Boy, Bonnie Tyler s Holding Out For A Hero, and Kenny Loggins s Footloose, its understandable why the movie barely had any film score. I mean ... you have to admit, the music on the official (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) album makes this movie a hit, and I am not gonna lie I sometimes watch the film just to hear the music, lol. Footloose is a 1984 American musical drama film directed by Herbert Ross and stars Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, Dianne Wiest, and John Lithgow. It tells the story of Ren McCormack (Kevin Bacon), a teenager from Chicago who moves to a small town, where he attempts to overturn the ban on dancing instituted by the efforts of a local minister (John Lithgow). The film received mixed reviews from critics but became a box office hit, grossing $80 million in North America, becoming the seventh highest grossing film of 1984. Footloose is loosely based on the town of Elmore City, Oklahoma. The town had banned dancing since its founding in 1898 in an attempt to decrease the amount of heavy drinking. Miles Goodman was an American composer for television and film. He is best remembered for his frequent collaborations with film director Frank Oz, for whom Goodman scored such films as: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels(1988), What About Bob? (1991), Housesitter (1992) and Little Shop of Horrors (1986). He is also known for scoring: Teen Wolf (1985), and La Bamba (1987) with Carlos Santana. Overall, Miles Goodman s film score to Footloose delivers powerful guitar solos & orchestration motifs that truly elevate the films emotional sequences [especially with Music Box Kiss (Without Music Box) (Track 2) and Music Box Kiss (With Music Box) (Track 6)]. [Freestyle/Latin Freestyle/Dance Pop/House/Pop/Electronic] Here is Debra Torre with her one and only album titled: Step It Out. Extremely recommended for fans of Latin Freestyle music, a shame she is considered a forgotten freestyle artist because there are some great songs on this album and for that reason she deserved better credibility than what she had received. There is completely no info about her on the internet and usually when that happens its because she probably used a stage name for this album. What I can tell you is that she seemed the muse of songwriter/producer Michael Garvin and his brother Nathan. Michael wrote songs recorded by such diverse artists as George Benson, Sister Sledge, Reba McEntire, Cher and Steps, but his biggest success was as co-writer with Maria Christensen, of the song Waiting For Tonight, which was first recorded by Marias group 3rd Party and then became a hit for Jennifer Lopez in 1999. His production credits werent nearly as grand, but his work with Debra shows his production talent. Together, as simply Torré, they released the freestyle song Is It Too Late For Tomorrow for Blue Chip label in 1986. This album soon followed in 1990 and a single for Fast Lane (Track 8) was released for some strange reason in 1991 which contained 12 mixes/dubs of the track (that song also reminds me of a song that artist Veronique would perform). Also in 1990, Debra had a single for Conceal Your Love (Track 1) which sadly fell to minor dance club success on Esquire Records. Of course all of this went mostly unnoticed by the public, likely due to the inability of the small label (Esquire) to properly promote it. Tragic because it is just as good as any of the other dance pop records that were released around the time, with lots of freestyle elements, and should have got more attention. Also, the title track Step It Out (Track 5) was even written by Regina Richards, who recorded it herself but never released it. It also includes two remakes: Princes I Wanna Be Your Lover (Track 6) and Steve Arringtons (Dancing In The) Key Of Life (Track 7) ...wonder where she is now? This album was released under Esquire Records 90.

It contains four mixes on the album: Out Of The Blue (Club Mix), Out Of The Blue (Bonus Beats), Out Of The Blue (Drumappella), and the Out Of The Blue (Dub Version). I have also included the (Radio Edit) from the LP album as an added bonus. Deborah Ann Gibson is an American female singer, songwriter, producer and actress born August 31, 1970 in Brooklyn, NY while later growing up in Merrick, NY on Long Island. A child prodigy, she started writing songs when she was 5 years old, and learned record production at the age of 12. In 1987, while performing around the United States at nightclub venues, Gibson was recording what would become her debut album, Out of the Blue as well as this 12 single which in fact was edited by none other than The Latin Rascals. It was recorded in four weeks. Four singles from her LP album reached the Top 5 of the Hot 100 chart: Only in My Dreams, Shake Your Love, Out of the Blue, and the number-one hit Foolish Beat, followed by Staying Together, which performed more modestly, reaching No. 22. Foolish Beat set a record for Gibson, making her (at 17) the youngest artist ever to write, produce, and perform a Billboard number-one single, as entered in the 1988 Guinness Book of World Records, and she remains the youngest female artist to do so. Out of the Blue was established as her biggest hit next to Foolish Beat while also making the LP a hit album and she had success in the UK and southeast Asia, filling stadiums with her Out of the Blue tour. [AOR/Synth Pop/Dance/High Energy/HI NRG/New Wave] Here is Meri D. Marshall with her first album titled: My Obsession. These songs are all extremely 80s and while I love most of the tracks on it, a lot of them sadly arent very memorable due to how incredibly similar they all are to each other; Which is probably why her career faltered a bit and never got any major traction. One of the reasons why I really like this album is because it kind of comes off like a lost Laura Branigan or Bonnie Tyler record. I discovered that Meri released two other albums in Japan as simply Meri D. , one a 1986 re-release of this album titled: Follow Me with the song Follow Me added and Watcha Gonna Do (Track 8) omitted; The other album she put out was entitled: On Y Vas, a single for the song was also released. Now known as Meredith Marshall, the native Texan continued to write and record with many well known artists throughout the 90s and 00s (she even recorded a duet with Bruce Willis.) and was also apart of roots-rock band Zelda. Last reports that I could find say that she is living in Montreal, Canada and is still doing music. This album was released under Atlantic Records and WEA Records 85.

[Glam Rock/Synth Rock/Hard Rock/AOR/Metal/Glam Metal] Here is Sally Steele with her first and only album titled: Alone In Love. A must listen for 80s metal fanatics. Steele was born and raised in Indiana, and took her first interest in rock and roll music as a young child while watching The Beatles Animated Series which aired in the mid 1960s. At age 14, Sally started photographing celebrities and rock bands such as Kiss, Aerosmith and Black Sabbath. At age 16, Sally started singing in local rock bands and after high school, she moved to Japan to play in a Cover band for a brief tour. After one year of select performances, Sally decided to relocate to the vibrant rock scene which was taking place on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California during the early 1980s. In the early 1990s, when the glam metal genre was in decline, Sally moved to Nashville for a short while before relocating again to Las Vegas. Steele attempted stand-up comedy, played guitar when she could and worked as a cocktail waitress before becoming a chauffeur. Today, she is the publisher, founder, CEO and Editor-In-Chief of Vegas Rocks! Magazine which gives you updates on famous metal groups/artists from the 80s and what they are up to now. This album never made it off the ground but she did perform her single: Leave My Heart Alone (Track 5) on MTVs Basement Tapes in 1988. This album was released under Retrospect Records 89.

[New Wave/Synth Pop/Dance/Italo Disco] Here is the duo One To One with their incredible first album titled: Forward Your Emotions released in 1985. For starters, this album is right up my alley as I dig anything that is flooded with 80s synth and damn! …this album dominates in that category! haha. One To One is comprised of two members from Ottawa Valley, Canada: Leslie Howe & Louise Reny. They began as a synth-pop act but after this release the duo shifted gears drastically and became a rock-pop act with their second album by labeling them as One “2” One instead of One “TO” One (a bad move in my opinion). The two also had later incarnations in the hard rock band Sals Birdland (with Reny calling herself simply Sal) and the alternative rock group Artificial Joy Club. Howe was also the producer behind Alanis Morrisettes pre-Jagged Little Pill Canadian dance-pop career, with Reny supplying lyrics and vocal arrangements. This synth pop fueled debut album became a massive hit across Canada. The singles: There Was A Time (Track 6) and Angel In My Pocket (Track 2) charted on the Canadian Top 40. A third single titled: Black on White (Track 7) only reached #90 on the Canadian music charts at the time. This album was released under Bon Aire Records, WEA Records, and Wounded Bird Records 85.
(Btw, this is the 2010 CD reissue distributed by Wounded Bird Records that contains the bonus track: Angel In My Pocket Cassette Version …which is pretty much a completely different recording of the song. It begins with just a solo 2-bar drum fill (unlike the fading-in atmospheric synthesizers that start off the original) and has other subtle and not-so-subtle differences, such as the guitar solo in the bridge. [Funk/Soul/Electronic/Electro Funk/Electro/RnB] Here is KoKo-PoP with their second and final album titled: Secrets Of Lonely Boys. A shame this album didnt fly well as it is just as good as their first album if not better but i can see why it probably went under the radar at the time. This album was produced under Motown Records and in 1985 this label kept spewing out Electro Funk content as it was in high demand, its no surprise that some of their work would end up going unnoticed and Koko Pop was that statistic. KoKo-PoP was an R&B band from Columbus, Ohio that consisted of vocalist Matt Seward, guitarist Kevin Alexander, saxophonist Chris Powell, keyboardist Eric ONeal and bassist Recco Philmore. ONeal, Philmore and Alexander were featured on Teena Maries 1983 album Robbery. Powell has appeared on albums by various artists such as Willie Hutch, Clifford Brown, Nytro, Masterpiece, Rose Royce, Stargard, Teen Dream and the Temptations. Prior to this album, in 1984 they released their self-titled debut album on the same label, Motown Records. Its unknown how or if that album made the charts. Then in 1985, KoKo-PoP released this album and like their first album, this album didnt make the charts either. The only single to chart was Brand New Beat (Track 2) which peaked at #84 on Billboards Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 4 weeks. After that, it seemed as if KoKo-PoP faded into obscurity. These days, Recco Philmore is a member of the band Network 7. As for the other members, it is unknown what they are up to today. This album was released under Motown Records 85.

[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/Score/OST] Here is the complete RARE & UNRELEASED film score to the classic 1985 Harold Becker coming-of-age sports drama: Vision Quest, all of which is composed by the legendary synth wave group Tangerine Dream. This video brings together all the score material composed for the film including the unused cues that werent featured but recorded for the movie. There are a total of nineteen Tangerine Dream score pieces made for this film, though only four were put in the movie and a part of one was used early in the film when Louden Swain and Kenny Kuch Kuchera watch Brian Shute workout in the stadium bleachers. The four score pieces used in the film are titled: Vision Quest III (Track 3), Vision Quest VI (Track 6), Vision Quest XIII (Track 13), and Vision Quest XIX (Track 19). The other fifteen tracks were unused due to being replaced by vocal songs, more than likely during the areas where songs repeat. Anyone who is familiar with the film knows that the soundtrack for Vision Quest nabbed a handful of songs from Madonna such as Gambler and her modest hit Crazy For You (which went on to sell around 2 million copies in the U.S. during the 1980s). Madonna is also featured in the film as a quick but memorable cameo showing off her trademark fashion sense just before it became the preferred aesthetic of every teenage girl on the planet at the time. The official soundtrack also features the Journey mega hit titled: Only The Young along with other tracks performed by artists such as John Waite, Foreigner, and Sammy Hagar. Vision Quest (released in the United Kingdom and Australia as Crazy for You) is a 1985 American coming-of-age romantic drama film starring Matthew Modine, Linda Fiorentino, Michael Schoeffling and Ronny Cox. It is based on Terry Daviss 1979 novel of the same name. Modine plays a Spokane high school wrestler who falls in love with an older woman, an aspiring artist from New Jersey on her way to San Francisco while also embarking on a mission or, in a Native American term, a vision quest, to drop two weight classes to challenge the areas toughest opponent, Brian Shute, a menacing three-time state champion from nearby rival Hoover High School, who has never been defeated in his high school career. In some countries, the title of the film was changed to capitalize on Madonnas emerging fame and the popularity of the song Crazy for You. Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese having been the only continuous member up until his death in January of 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-70s era of Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke, Peter Baumann and Johannes Schmoelling. They are considered pioneers of the early days of electronic music and has scored upwards of 60 films which include (but not limited to) Sorcerer, Thief, The Keep, Firestarter, Legend, Three OClock High, Near Dark, Shy People, Miracle Mile, and Risky Business. Overall, even though Tangerine Dreams Vision Quest score is rarely talked about, it is still a fantastic collage of synth heavy motifs that compliment the films more dramatic scenes. This complete rare OST soundtrack score is unreleased and has no distribution label 85.

It contains all three mixes offered on the album: Crazy Love (Extended Mix), Crazy Love (Dub Mix), Crazy Love (Instrumental). I also included the album version of the song as a bonus track. There are plenty of places on the internet that discuss her career, but Ill still give a brief synopsis. Nancy Catherine Julia Martinez was born on the 26th of August 1960 in Montreal, Quebec and had an interest in music at a young age, thanks to her musical parents. Growing up in Montreal as a child, she attended music school as a pianist and started taking vocal lessons. In high school she moved from singing at small local gigs to recording jingles and performing background vocals for popular French-Canadian artists like Nathalie and René Simard. During a session with disco artist Kat Mandu, Nancy was approached by the label to sign as a solo artist. Nancy was initially uncomfortable with being in the spotlight and asked that they not use her real name. She released several albums in the early 80s before she hit golden by working with hiNRG/freestyle producer Teneen Ali. She updated her sound, and her first single, For Tonight, became a huge hit and an instant freestyle classic in 1986. The song even hit #32 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the dance chart. Her best album titled: Not Just The Girl Next Door followed, and her freestyle follow-up single, Move Out, managed to hit #12 on the dance chart. This single was released next and it sadly failed to chart or make a splash which sucks because its a really good dance pop track that many freestyle fans (myself included) would love. Over the following years Nancy kept a much lower profile, occasionally doing guest vocals while also recording some stuff in genres under pop rock, jazz and dance pop here and there (sometimes under the name Nancy Martin for some strange reason). I think its safe to say that she was one of the strongest latin freestyle female vocalists of the time and that says a lot. This 12 maxi album single was released under Atlantic Records 86.
