[New Wave/Synth Pop/Dance/Italo Disco] Here is the duo One To One with their incredible first album titled: Forward Your Emotions released in 1985. For starters, this album is right up my alley as I dig anything that is flooded with 80s synth and damn! …this album dominates in that category! haha. One To One is comprised of two members from Ottawa Valley, Canada: Leslie Howe & Louise Reny. They began as a synth-pop act but after this release the duo shifted gears drastically and became a rock-pop act with their second album by labeling them as One “2” One instead of One “TO” One (a bad move in my opinion). The two also had later incarnations in the hard rock band Sals Birdland (with Reny calling herself simply Sal) and the alternative rock group Artificial Joy Club. Howe was also the producer behind Alanis Morrisettes pre-Jagged Little Pill Canadian dance-pop career, with Reny supplying lyrics and vocal arrangements. This synth pop fueled debut album became a massive hit across Canada. The singles: There Was A Time (Track 6) and Angel In My Pocket (Track 2) charted on the Canadian Top 40. A third single titled: Black on White (Track 7) only reached #90 on the Canadian music charts at the time. This album was released under Bon Aire Records, WEA Records, and Wounded Bird Records 85.
(Btw, this is the 2010 CD reissue distributed by Wounded Bird Records that contains the bonus track: Angel In My Pocket Cassette Version …which is pretty much a completely different recording of the song. It begins with just a solo 2-bar drum fill (unlike the fading-in atmospheric synthesizers that start off the original) and has other subtle and not-so-subtle differences, such as the guitar solo in the bridge. [Funk/Soul/Electronic/Electro Funk/Electro/RnB] Here is KoKo-PoP with their second and final album titled: Secrets Of Lonely Boys. A shame this album didnt fly well as it is just as good as their first album if not better but i can see why it probably went under the radar at the time. This album was produced under Motown Records and in 1985 this label kept spewing out Electro Funk content as it was in high demand, its no surprise that some of their work would end up going unnoticed and Koko Pop was that statistic. KoKo-PoP was an R&B band from Columbus, Ohio that consisted of vocalist Matt Seward, guitarist Kevin Alexander, saxophonist Chris Powell, keyboardist Eric ONeal and bassist Recco Philmore. ONeal, Philmore and Alexander were featured on Teena Maries 1983 album Robbery. Powell has appeared on albums by various artists such as Willie Hutch, Clifford Brown, Nytro, Masterpiece, Rose Royce, Stargard, Teen Dream and the Temptations. Prior to this album, in 1984 they released their self-titled debut album on the same label, Motown Records. Its unknown how or if that album made the charts. Then in 1985, KoKo-PoP released this album and like their first album, this album didnt make the charts either. The only single to chart was Brand New Beat (Track 2) which peaked at #84 on Billboards Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 4 weeks. After that, it seemed as if KoKo-PoP faded into obscurity. These days, Recco Philmore is a member of the band Network 7. As for the other members, it is unknown what they are up to today. This album was released under Motown Records 85.

[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/Score/OST] Here is the complete RARE & UNRELEASED film score to the classic 1985 Harold Becker coming-of-age sports drama: Vision Quest, all of which is composed by the legendary synth wave group Tangerine Dream. This video brings together all the score material composed for the film including the unused cues that werent featured but recorded for the movie. There are a total of nineteen Tangerine Dream score pieces made for this film, though only four were put in the movie and a part of one was used early in the film when Louden Swain and Kenny Kuch Kuchera watch Brian Shute workout in the stadium bleachers. The four score pieces used in the film are titled: Vision Quest III (Track 3), Vision Quest VI (Track 6), Vision Quest XIII (Track 13), and Vision Quest XIX (Track 19). The other fifteen tracks were unused due to being replaced by vocal songs, more than likely during the areas where songs repeat. Anyone who is familiar with the film knows that the soundtrack for Vision Quest nabbed a handful of songs from Madonna such as Gambler and her modest hit Crazy For You (which went on to sell around 2 million copies in the U.S. during the 1980s). Madonna is also featured in the film as a quick but memorable cameo showing off her trademark fashion sense just before it became the preferred aesthetic of every teenage girl on the planet at the time. The official soundtrack also features the Journey mega hit titled: Only The Young along with other tracks performed by artists such as John Waite, Foreigner, and Sammy Hagar. Vision Quest (released in the United Kingdom and Australia as Crazy for You) is a 1985 American coming-of-age romantic drama film starring Matthew Modine, Linda Fiorentino, Michael Schoeffling and Ronny Cox. It is based on Terry Daviss 1979 novel of the same name. Modine plays a Spokane high school wrestler who falls in love with an older woman, an aspiring artist from New Jersey on her way to San Francisco while also embarking on a mission or, in a Native American term, a vision quest, to drop two weight classes to challenge the areas toughest opponent, Brian Shute, a menacing three-time state champion from nearby rival Hoover High School, who has never been defeated in his high school career. In some countries, the title of the film was changed to capitalize on Madonnas emerging fame and the popularity of the song Crazy for You. Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese having been the only continuous member up until his death in January of 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-70s era of Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke, Peter Baumann and Johannes Schmoelling. They are considered pioneers of the early days of electronic music and has scored upwards of 60 films which include (but not limited to) Sorcerer, Thief, The Keep, Firestarter, Legend, Three OClock High, Near Dark, Shy People, Miracle Mile, and Risky Business. Overall, even though Tangerine Dreams Vision Quest score is rarely talked about, it is still a fantastic collage of synth heavy motifs that compliment the films more dramatic scenes. This complete rare OST soundtrack score is unreleased and has no distribution label 85.

[Latin Freestyle/Freestyle/Synth Pop/Dance/High Energy/Electronic/Pop/Dance Pop] Here is freestyle artist Nancy Martinez with her failed 12 maxi single titled: Crazy Love. It contains all three mixes offered on the album: Crazy Love (Extended Mix), Crazy Love (Dub Mix), Crazy Love (Instrumental). I also included the album version of the song as a bonus track. There are plenty of places on the internet that discuss her career, but Ill still give a brief synopsis. Nancy Catherine Julia Martinez was born on the 26th of August 1960 in Montreal, Quebec and had an interest in music at a young age, thanks to her musical parents. Growing up in Montreal as a child, she attended music school as a pianist and started taking vocal lessons. In high school she moved from singing at small local gigs to recording jingles and performing background vocals for popular French-Canadian artists like Nathalie and René Simard. During a session with disco artist Kat Mandu, Nancy was approached by the label to sign as a solo artist. Nancy was initially uncomfortable with being in the spotlight and asked that they not use her real name. She released several albums in the early 80s before she hit golden by working with hiNRG/freestyle producer Teneen Ali. She updated her sound, and her first single, For Tonight, became a huge hit and an instant freestyle classic in 1986. The song even hit #32 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the dance chart. Her best album titled: Not Just The Girl Next Door followed, and her freestyle follow-up single, Move Out, managed to hit #12 on the dance chart. This single was released next and it sadly failed to chart or make a splash which sucks because its a really good dance pop track that many freestyle fans (myself included) would love. Over the following years Nancy kept a much lower profile, occasionally doing guest vocals while also recording some stuff in genres under pop rock, jazz and dance pop here and there (sometimes under the name Nancy Martin for some strange reason). I think its safe to say that she was one of the strongest latin freestyle female vocalists of the time and that says a lot. This 12 maxi album single was released under Atlantic Records 86.

Here is the complete official expanded film score to Brian De Palmas iconic mobster epic Scarface composed entirely by the legendary Giorgio Moroder. This video brings together all the score material composed for the film including the rare source cues and unreleased material that were used as ambient pieces in the movie (some cues were originally found in 2006s Scarface: The World Is Yours video game but are now officially released). Forty years after the release of De Palmas enduring early 80s crime drama Scarface, starring Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Robert Loggia, La-La Land Records has presented fans with the entirety of the films operatic synth pop score, finally released as a limited edition package in conjunction with the Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection (only 5000 copies exist). Film scores heighten emotions and create the mood for scenes, driving action and drawing tears. For De Palmas 83 remake - that arguably surpassed the original - of Scarface, he sought out the Father of Disco, Italian composer, songwriter and record producer, Giorgio Moroder. At the time he was credited as the pioneer for euro disco, and had also composed the score for Flashdance, released that same year (1983). Moroder used his knowledge of synthesizers and unique vision, by incorporating elements of synth rock and disco, to elevate the film and make Scarface the legacy that it is today. In collaboration with Arthur Barrow, Sylvester Levay and Kristian Schultze, Moroder used clashing beats and haunting tones to create an aura of lavish bravado worthy of Tony Montana. For the score, the main synthesizers used by Moroder for the Scarface soundtrack were the Roland Jupiter-8 and the Yamaha CS-80. Personally this is my all time favorite synth film score that I am glad to finally see officially released to the public. Overall, this score is considered to be Giorgio Moroder s synthesized magnum opus, and is a sinister and bold musicscape that captures the extravagance of the film. This complete OST soundtrack score was released under La-La Land Records & Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection 83 (22).

[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/Score/OST] Here is the OFFICIAL Main Title track to Brian De Palmas iconic mobster epic Scarface composed by the legendary Giorgio Moroder. This track is played during the opening credit montage of the film when Cuban immigrants arrive to the Untied States. For almost 40 years this track has remained unreleased to the public until it was finally released on La-La Land Records and Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection limited edition album titled: Scarface: Expanded Motion Picture Soundtrack. Many fans of the film have tried to recreate this track through the years and while some sound nearly identical, nothing really comes close to the official version. I do recall reading somewhere that Giorgio Moroder s favorite track from Scarface is in fact the Main Titles theme and that he is also quite proud of Tonys Theme and Gina and Elviras Theme. To create the sounds of the Main Title track, Moroder used the Roland Jupiter-8 and the Yamaha CS-80 synthesizers. Overall, I am really happy that this track is FINALLY released to the public because it captures the essence of Tony Montana s lifestyle and the sinister tone of the film. This song / track was released under La-La Land Records & Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection 83 (22).

Here is the complete expanded film score to the classic Paul Brickman film that put Tom Cruise on the map, the one and only Risky Business, all of which is composed by the legendary synth wave group Tangerine Dream. This video brings together all the score material composed for the film including the rare unreleased material that isnt available for public purchase. All of which has been exclusively enhanced & remastered by my brother Andy Morales. Let me begin by saying that I absolutely LOVE this score; It truly elevates the films artistic visuals and stylistic approaches. However, it is truly a shame that only 5 tracks from this film have been released when they were included on the soundtrack album from 1984 by Virgin Records. Look no further as this video brings you a grand total of 26 (most of which are unreleased making this the definitive score album). Risky Business is a 1983 American teen coming-of-age comedy film that was written and directed by Paul Brickman (in his directorial debut) and stars Tom Cruise as Joel Goodson and Rebecca De Mornay as Lana. It is widely known as Cruises breakout film (as it features the iconic Bob Seger - Old Time Rock and Roll living room sequence), Risky Business was a critical and commercial success, grossing more than $63 million against a $6.2 million budget. Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese having been the only continuous member up until his death in January of 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-70s era of Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke, Peter Baumann and Johannes Schmoelling. They are considered pioneers of the early days of electronic music and has scored upwards of 60 films which include (but not limited to) Sorcerer, Thief, The Keep, Firestarter, Legend, Three OClock High, Near Dark, Shy People, Miracle Mile, and of course Risky Business. Overall, Risky Business redefined synth scores for the 80s; With tracks like The Dream Is Always The Same (Track 1) & Love On A Real Train (Track 18, 19, & 20) being similar to something reminiscent of Netflixs Stranger Things its no surprise that this score has helped shape and influence many future synth composers of the following decades. This complete OST expanded soundtrack score is unreleased and has no distribution label 83.
