This talk is about understanding the steel making and steel refining
process using Thermo-Calc and the CALPHAD Database TCOX9. This database contains 25 elements, 260 binaries, 244 ternaries, 118 pseudo-ternary MeO-MeO-MeO, 32 Me-O-F, Me-O-S, many higher order systems and validation in multicomponent space. Can be used, for example, for heat balance calculations, permitting the estimation of the energy required to heat and melt.
