Jack Shaindlin began his musical career pounding away at a piano in a small town nickelodeon at the age of 14. “Keystone Kapers” was a rag he wrote with Charlie Chaplin’s 1914 Keystone picture “Dough and Dynamite” in mind, and I thought that it would therefore be appropriate to include footage of it here. From a 1958 recording, here’s a real silent movie rag!
