In her latest speech, Kemi Badenoch pledges to scrap the Public Sector Equality Duty while keeping the core Equality Act 2010 intact. I go through her key arguments and explain why this doesn't go nearly far enough.
Largely agreeing with David Shipley's sharp analysis, I break down how the Equality Act itself has fundamentally damaged British institutions – from policing and schools to hiring, pay structures, and everyday decision-making. The indirect discrimination rules, positive action, "equal value" claims, and legal architecture have turned Britain into a box-ticking, grievance-driven bureaucracy that prioritises identity over competence and fairness.
Kemi is right to attack identity politics in the public sector, but leaving the main Act untouched means the underlying problems will continue. This video explains the real scale of the damage and why bolder reform is urgently needed.
