After the big news yesterday I am going to have to cope and seethe my way into going through the good side of this defection along with reminding myself about the bad sides. Obviously his history as a poor immigration minister and hiding the Afghan scandal is awful and does not bode well but ultimately with Nige and Zia in charge we are still in a good place and his supporters and experience is not to be easily thrown away. All the ugly is left with the Tories who are trying to pretend this is not a total disaster for them, which, while they did limit damage, it was.
