This is a demonstration and performance test video of a Keithley 225, current source / calibration unit. The 225 is capable of producing selectable 3 digit currents, from 1 nanoamp to .1 amp in 7 ranges. It is amazingly accurate. A nice looking unit as well. It has been cleaned inside and out, the switches carefully cleaned and de-oxidized, then lubricated (bearings). the cover was re-painted.
The video gives a quick tour of the unit, then begins to measure various currents over it 7 ranges. A Keithley 480 Picoammeter was used to measure currents up to the milliamp range, then an HP34401A completed the last two ranges. The results are tabulated and compared to the Max / Min tolerance given in the manual, and it passes with flying colors!
