The Katsina State Government is stepping up efforts to contain the diphtheria outbreak with the establishment of **two isolation centres** and the procurement of vaccines for affected communities.

The Acting Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Primary Health Care Agency, **Dr. Shaima’u Kabir Abba**, says the measures are aimed at curtailing the spread of the disease, improving treatment and reducing mortality.

The intervention forms part of the state government's wider response to protect residents, particularly children, from the deadly disease.
