Collections are a useful tool in Katana that allow you to group various scene graph locations to a specified collection which can then be referenced throughout the project. The benefit being that you don’t have to repeatedly make the same selections over and over, instead, a single Collection can be used.

Discover how to create your collections natively in USD and view them using the new Collections Working Set, and Scene Explorer panel. You’ll also learn how to utilize USD’s Pattern-Based Collections (which is similar to Katana’s CEL) to make prim paths selections.
