For the second year in a row, 11-year-old Kai Hutton Wakely played a concert at Toronto's Tranzak Club to raise money for free music lessons at the Regent Park School of Music. He and his mother, Sue Hutton, have raised thousands of dollars so far for young people at Regent Park and elsewhere.
Here is Kai playing "Down By The Riverside" on Sunday, June 2nd with the Regent Park School of Music Wind Band. His concert ranged from Queen Rock Band classics to Dave Brubeck and Mozarts's "Turkish March". Time ran out before he played "Maple Leaf Rag". It was truly a virtuoso performance!
Videotaping was done by a proud grandfather, Jack Hutton, who played more than 30 years ago at the Tranzak Club with the Rainbow Gardens Jazz Orchestra.
