One of the oldest buildings in all Bala was torn down in the short space of a noon hour on Wednesday, June 20th. Few in the town knew that it was very likely Bala's first ice cream parlour, an eyesore next to the LCBO for at least the last decade. William Carr, an early Bala resident, later built Carr's Ice Cream Parlour on the church side of the Bala North Falls. Another piece of Bala history is now gone.
