So yesterday I was excitedly editing another project, and then I decided to take a break from it and begin to look around the edits I had saved on Insta, and find some of their songs bc why not. This was one of the songs I decided to look up, and, something about it really gave off an editing vibe to me. And so, I decided, why not quickly throw together a thing? ^^ And the ''throwing together'' thing did actually kinda work this time.
I wasn't intending the effects to be completely the way I see the music, which I also did to avoid making this look messy.
So, I didn't want this to be some kind of big project that I wanted to focus on a lot, but simply something for the heck of it ^^
This is also really inspired by the edit that I heard this song from ^^ The edit that inspired me was by Instagram user versacejxy, if you're wondering ^^
It was really fun to edit this, minus one problem which I will come back to later XD''
First of all, I just started R A V I N G when I finally learned to do the effect that I like to call the ''bendy effect''! XD I've seen it in so many edits and I really like it, and welp, now I've figured out that you need to use warp to get that owo
I also tried a new effect with cc flo, and I like the result of it too :3
Oh and I also experimented around with masks! x3 (Well, more like rectangle masks and then blend modes but oki XD)
I'm very happy with the look of the colors, as well c:
Okie aaaand the problem I had was with rendering ^^''
I first tried to render this in Media Encoder, and the render started off fine and was at a stable 16 minutes, but then it jumped up to over 2 hours and then either stayed stable or went down to an hour and 56 minutes or smth like that. I tried to cancel a few times and go back to AE and fix the motion tiles, but every time I tried, the render time still was similar, still with the same problem. It was nearly 1 AM and I was just too tired to try to fix the problem anymore, so I decided to leave my laptop on for the night, to see if it will render. And so I did, aaand I wish my laptop was a bit more quiet when rendering XD'' Well, anyways, I randomly woke up at 6 AM today and then got up to see that the render had failed. Maybe that was to be expected. Well, after going back to sleep and waking up later, I decided to render this in AE, and that worked so much better! There was still a moment where the render time went over, but unlike Media Encoder, it started dropping down eventually. In the end the render time was 30 minutes and 23 seconds ^^
Actually, originally I wanted to loop this 3 times instead of 2, and I think it was a good idea for me to drop the 3rd loop ^^''
So yeah! That would be the only problem, and aside from that, this was a fun little side-project :3
Ooh also, yesterday I was in a real FFX mood, and I got really excited to play FFX-2 XD But first I need to finish the first gaaaame! XD

gOSH i was pretty tired after editing this all day owo
Lets hope this nearly 400 mb large render of this edit will somehow survive past Youtubes compression ;w;
So yesterday, i was hit with some SUDDEN inspo to edit with Metal Gear Rising!
Recently ive been playing this game and i love it quite a lot! it might become one of the first games in a while that i actually *finish* :o
This is also my first Metal Gear game. Ive attempted to dabble in, I think, MGS: The Twin Snakes before, but i somehow couldnt get far into it?
Anyways! I quickly knew that i wanted to use this song, as its one of my favorites right now, and plus, i feel like this song fits this game and Raiden a bit! Although im not very familiar with his backstory from MGS4 much... I think it might fit his vibe in this game in particular.
I also originally wanted to use some gameplay footage that ive recorded, but then decided not to.
As i was editing this, i didnt fully understand what i wanted beyond a couple clip placements and for there to be something to mimic an echoy effect.
I proceeded to experiment with creating somewhat of an ominous vibe to this edit, just tossing effects and text around to see what could stick. I didnt want this video to be boring or too similar to what ive made before, but perhaps the result is a bit too overloaded.
I wasnt entirely happy with some of my effects but i decided to just keep editing and see what happens, make something bc i wanna make something!
I started experimenting further by overlaying typing text, echoing text in different areas of the screen, adding about two masks, adding a moving black bar, adding a shard of text that is spinning slowly in a 3d space... theres just a whole bunch of everything, im not sure if theres much consistency. But maybe sometimes work doesnt have to be completely clean!
I think i mostly felt like what i was making was getting interesting when i made the duplicating grace text and the like text.
This video isnt very orderly compared to what i usually make, regardless, but at the very least it was an interesting experience making it, and im happy that i could edit with this media! ^^
I started to put a little extra effort towards the end. And i decided to get even more funky. I added some cinematic sound effects! Perhaps they are a bit out of place in this video, but i do like the result of the one at 0:15.
In addition to that, to add to the feeling that the sound effects were creating, i added a little voice clip of Raiden. With some added reverb.
Uuuhh rendering didnt take too long! No issues with it either. But then i had to render this higher quality version bc i saw that my previous upload of this looked very low quality ^^
I tried smth new with this thumbnail too! Might continue experimenting with stuff like this - stuff with a border around it and whatnot, and maybe some stuff with more font diversity!
Jeeeezy me, and Ive graduated my art school now!
This last year was veeery rough. I was struggling with both my physical and mental health on and off, and during the second semester i just ended up blanking out, barely being able to focus, remember some things from school, or even start work. However, despite all of the troubles, everything ended very good, and the days leading up to my graduation kept getting better.
And despite the stress this school has caused me, i loved being there ^^
Well see where things will take me next and well see if ill be able to get into the place where i wanna go.

Found some more new effects today, as well as this _very nice_ motion and decided to try these things out ^^
Im quite happy that I have different kinds of shaders now ^^ At least I found some that work well for this model, as well as others ^^

This ones a little new for me~
I cant recall if Ive ever made an edit with a story (in general?), especially one that i write and then base the edit off of owo
This idea came to me simply when I was deciding what to do the next day, so Im not left p much bored throughout the day. And suddenly, the thought of writing a story edit about Killua made me excited, and slowly it turned into a Killugon idea, and here we are :3
Its likely that I was inspired to make a story edit by both Mia Hikari and KaibaShadow :O I loved Mias Arcade story edit, and I loved how much I was able to immerse myself into the story as I was watching, and I know that KaibaShadow loves making story edits in general :3
It took some time to find the sketches by one of the hxh animators, that I was looking for, and a couple parts of the video were some trial and error in terms of giving them a logical flow that goes with the story and also the lyrics in a way, but I managed!
I seem to be vibing with simple editing when it comes to longer videos like this one. I wanted the scenes to be understandable tho~
And I was making this, I could swear that I was adding some kind of symbolism into the effects that I wasnt fully aware of XD
One thing that was just something I did to differentiate clips - I made the visions and scenes that Killua sees in his head look more soft and dreamy ^^
I kinda increased the intensity of effects and changed them up as the video progressed, and all I know is that when I added them I was like this is supposed to mean something XD Take that as you will, maybe XD Maybe the changes can be seen as an increase an emotion in that sense, but I really dont know ^^
Right then, theres a little more I wanted to say about the effects, but the desc limit is angry, so I shall end this off owo

Story:
Another day had passed, spending time together with Gon, and Killua found himself wide awake when he should be asleep. His best friend had long-since fallen asleep near him. Peacefully, and without any second thoughts. Meanwhile, Killua stared up at the ceiling, at nothing in particular, not being able to get the moments of true happiness that he had felt around the dark haired boy, out of his head. And not just that - he remembered the sad moments, the more intense moments, and simply the moments when he could be together with him, with a smile on his face or watch Gon relish in his own happiness. All he knew is that he had fun around him, and wanted to stay by his side, but another aspect felt missing. Killua couldnt quite pin it down, nor really understand what it is that he might be feeling. Before he knew it, the only thing on his mind was Gon, and the thought of simply being close to him, maybe even being able to hold his hand. By this point, the white haired boys face was flushing bright red, and he could barely keep his composure. He was only glad that Gon wasnt awake to see this, but he still couldnt stand that he was blushing so much. From here, something occurred to him - if he were to tell Gon about this, how would he react? Would he reject these feelings that he seems to be feeling, would he push him away? That was one of the things he feared most. This anxiety dug into him, even more so not allowing him to sleep, but he decided to think more about this tomorrow.
The next day, as the two were out and about, Killua finally, while Gon wasnt fully paying attention, worked up the confidence to speak about the way hed been feeling, and this feeling of wanting to be close to him. Killua was nearly in shambles as he confessed, and tears already started to flow down his cheeks - he was much too scared of what would happen next. However, to his shock, once Gon turned around to face him, he reached out a finger to him. Quickly taking his pinky finger into a pinky promise. The dark haired boy smiled, telling him that he accepts his feelings, and that if he ever wants to sometime, its okay if he holds his hand or holds him close. Killua felt a moment of shock, before, in tears, beginning to smile. Needless to say, he felt relieved that the situation turned out this way. He shakily took his best friends hand to bring it up to his cheek, wiping his tears. In this moment, he understood - the emotion he might be feeling is, love. And, as if flowing into him like a gentle stream in a river, he felt this next thought come to him so naturally, as he looked at his smiling friend - Even when we fade away eventually to nothing, you will always be my favorite form of loving.
I suppose we can imagine that Killua is the one getting his tears wiped at 0:49 ^^
