Retro Tech & Electronics | Jura Impressa S / X / XS Rebuild Series Part 4 - Front Panel Rebuild, Re-assembly & Testing @retrotechandelectronics | Uploaded October 2021 | Updated October 2024, 23 hours ago.
Now into chapter four, the Grinder has been rebuilt and the brew group, re-installed. Now the front panel needs some work. All of the mechanics up front are gummed up so I need to disassemble it. Also the spout is nasty. Furthermore, the spout has magnets that should be taken care of. The inner rods of the machine should be left in.
The spout comes apart further for a more comprehensive cleaning. a brush and extensive soakng was needed. The rods were polished with metal polish.
One plastic tab was broke so I used the super glue and baking soda technique to conduct the repair. After reassembly all of the moving parts ran smooth, it became time to reassemble the unit, this began the number countdown but not before the bean sensor was taken apart for cleaning.
Then the countdown from sixteen all the way to one ensures that the machine was assembled exactly as disassembled during which:
The reservoir is filled with water and some citric acid for a decalc process.
All of the removable parts were cleaned dried and reinstalled.
We run the first test with the cleaning cycle..this also removed the extra grease from assembly.
Fully assembled, two tests are conducted, regular coffee, and cappuccino. Both worked flawlessly.
