A Day of Small Things | Julius Caesar by Shakespeare ep.1 // a deep dive into Act 1 // self-knowledge, honour & a killjoy! @adayofsmallthings | Uploaded May 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
I came to Julius Caesar on my Shakespeare's journey this month and it was a delight! There's so much I’d like to mention I’m going to make this into two videos so you don’t have to sit here forever. In this first video, I’m going to look through big chunks of Act 1: what’s happening, who are the characters (the crowd, Brutus and Cassius) and what themes start to emerge (self-knowledge, honour, fear and love). In the second video, I’ll share some more thoughts on certain themes and I’ll also introduce you to a couple of theatre productions of Julius Caesar.
