Fleet Heroes Awards 2018 shone the spotlight on those making significant progress in cleaner and more efficient transport.
The Fleet Hero award recognises public and private sector organisations that have taken measures to achieve substantial emissions reductions and fuel savings, and have been particularly innovative in their approach.
This year’s Fleet Hero award was sponsored by Fleet World. Caroline Sandall, Director at ESE UK Consulting and a Fleet Heroes judge, filled us in on what made this year's Fleet Hero London Borough of Hackney stand out from the crowd.
The council has recently signed up to the Clean Van Commitment, aiming to have 100% electric LCVs by 2028, and has made excellent progress in switching their fleet vehicles to alternative fuels. They have notably expanded charging infrastructure, and encourage council employees to cycle – the quickest way to travel around the borough.
