JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — More than two years after Johnstown police charged a local woman who allegedly hid a man's dead body inside the attic of a home in Old Conemaugh Borough, investigators say the woman is now in custody.
Detectives say now 41-year-old Angela Rice was recently found and arrested in New York in connection to her abuse of a corpse charge tied to the death of 36-year-old Gregory Rohn.
Investigators say Mr. Rohn's body was found wrapped in a tarp and hidden in the attic of a home, along the 100 block of Adams Street, in June of 2024.
Police say he had been reported missing months prior and county investigators determined that his death was "highly suspicious."
Last summer, Johnstown Police charged Rice after an acquaintance came forward and reported that she had admitted to hiding Rohn's body "in the walls" after he allegedly overdosed.
Investigators noted that Mr. Rohn's body had been inside the home's crawl space of several months as he had reportedly decomposed "down to the skeletal remains" and "through the floor."
According to online court records, Rice was arraigned Thursday night and is now jailed at the Cambria County Prison on $200,000 bail.
