Acoustic folkie and psychedelic-rock pioneer Jorma Kaukonen used his ’58 Gibson J-50 to play a bit of his signature instrumental, “Embryonic Journey.” Known for its appearance on the legendary “Surrealistic Pillow” album by Jefferson Airplane., this version pre-dates “Pillow” and is heard on Jorma’s latest release, “Wabash Avenue.” We review it in the March issue.
