Our culture gives preteens two messages:
"Be happy."
"Be yourself."

Jesus gives a very different message:
"Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me."

That's not bad news. It's the path to true joy. Our preteens don't need more self-discovery. They need to know who they are in Christ and what it means to follow Him.
