Jason Snell (98BA) is a multimedia artist who can compose live music with his mind.

Wearing a brain monitor on his head, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native demonstrates how he manipulates synthesizers and drum machines using only his brainwaves. Snell has performed solo at techno festivals across the U.S. and as far away as Germany under the moniker Primary Assembly.

A journalism and mass communication graduate from the University of Iowa, Snell has composed nine film scores and his music appears on more than 75 albums in the electronic music scene. His music, motion design, and filmmaking have been featured at the Sundance, South by Southwest, and Slamdance film festivals.
