Capture Your Flag | Jason Anello on How to Give Better Advice When Asked for Help @captureyourflag | Uploaded October 2015 | Updated October 2024, 12 hours ago.
In Chapter 13 of 20 in his 2014 Capture Your Flag interview, creative director and marketing agency co-founder Jason Anello answers "How Have You Learned to Give Better Advice When People Ask You for Help?" Anello shares how giving better advice is to spend more time truly understanding the question you are asked rather than simply sharing what you did when faced with a similar situation. He finds putting himself in the other person's shoes - showing empathy - helps make an advice conversation more useful. Jason Anello is a founding partner and creative director at Manifold Partners, an award-winning marketing agency. Previously, Anello worked in creative leadership roles at Yahoo!, Ogilvy & Mather, and Digitas. Passionate about food, friendship and travel, Anello also runs the Forking Tasty food blog. He earned a BFA from University at Albany.

Capture Your Flag is a career documentary interview series that interviews 60 up and coming leaders annually to gather knowledge and share a Near Peer Learning experience its audience may use to better plan, pursue and achieve life and career aspirations. Discover more at captureyourflag.com
