Hey people, here's a cover of "Under The Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers.
This was one that I do as part of the covers band Unsuspected ( @unsuspected4678 ) which I perform in, and it's gone well whenever we've performed it, so I decided to record a cover of it. It was actually one I learned back soon after I started learning guitar back in 2009/2010, and I learned it with a capo on 2nd fret for the intro/first verse (and taking the capo off for the rest of the song when the drums come in), but based on live clips (where Frusciante doesn't play with a capo at all) and the studio version having two guitar tracks in the intro in a way that makes it sound like one guitar, I recorded as close as I possibly could to the original recording.
Part of the impetus for deciding to record this was that @juliac9075, who also fronts Unsuspected, was able to do the high backing vocals at the end of the song and nail them, so I asked her if she'd be willing to record those parts on my cover.
While my previous album pretty much just used condenser mics on all vocals, on this album I was trying out some other different microphones for different songs, and based on the fact that Anthony Kiedis liked to use an SM7B for his vocals, I tried just using an SM57 for my vocals, and it worked surprisingly well for that.
