Hello everyone!
This is my entry to the November Pixel Mixers cover contest on the VGCovers subreddit. The theme of the contest was "Metroidvania", meaning that one could submit a cover of any game whose gameplay borrows heavily from that of the Metroid or Castlevania series. Or, the easier method would be to look at the list of Metroidvania games on Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metroidvania#List_of_Metroidvania_games). Since I don't play Metroid or Castlevania, I had a feeling that I wouldn't be able to enter the contest, but to my surprise, Zelda II was on the list of Metroidvania games since it fills the criteria to be classified as a Metroidvania game. I decided then to make a cover of the Palace theme from Zelda II, which I believe is one of the best songs from the soundtrack, and definitely the most memorable for me.
The game footage at the start of the game was recorded with the Nintendo 3DS version of Zelda II, with the game audio recorded directly to my computer.
Also I've finally managed to get a big rhythm guitar sound while having an up-front lead sound! I quad-tracked the rhythm guitars (two on each speaker of the stereo field). That is also why there is four different camera angles for the rhythm guitar.
