Ken Tamura, a veteran of the 442nd RCT who later went on to serve with the Military Intelligence Service at the MacArthur headquarters in Japan recalls his time in Italy with the 442nd evading and fighting the German army. In this Hanashi clip, Ken recalls how he was tasked briefly with the dangerous job of machine gunner. "Before I went overseas, I never thought there was a bullet out there for me. That's just what I thought when you're 21 years old. But you change your mind after a while."
