Norman Ikari was born on February 17, 1919 in Seattle, Washington. Ikari was drafted in January 1942, a month before Executive Order 9066 was issued which resulted in his mother and younger siblings being incarcerated at Poston concentration camp near Parker, Arizona. In this clip, Ikari recalls visiting Poston before leaving for Europe and the racial discrimination he experienced in town. Ikari served in E Company of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team.
