A cocktail of Bourbon and Advocaat was accidentally created in the film when Grady runs into Jack, spilling advocaat all over him, including into his drink (youtu.be/AmcnnRv58Z4?t=2m21s). David and Leslie from 12 Bottle Bar, just figured out the proportions, added some bitters and gave it a name.

12 Bottle Bar advocates for using Jack Daniels instead of Bourbon, so that part is up to you. Jack Daniels is probably more fitting. In the book, Jack's middle name is Daniel. But I typically have bourbon on-hand, so I use bourbon for this cocktail.

This drink is dangerously close to a highball. In this case, the bitters help qualify it as a cocktail. It's an easy drink to make and it goes down easy. It's on the sweeter side, but the bourbon and bitters really come through (or should I say, "shine through"). Even though it's on the rocks, it feels like a winter drink, which is appropriate given the setting of the movie. Just don't let Lloyd, the bartender, or Grady, the enabler, lead you too far off the path. Cheers!

Recipe:
1 oz Bourbon (or Jack Daniels)
3 oz Advocaat
2 dashes Aromatic Bitters

Shake ingredients with ice. Pour contents of shaker (including ice) into chilled rocks glass.
