Four years ago, a bottlenose dolphin named Izzy was rescued off North Padre Island, Texas after harmful human interaction made her dangerously habituated to people and boats, leading to injuries and a decline in health.
Today, Izzy thrives at Clearwater Marine Aquarium thanks to the dedicated care of team members like Animal Care Program Manager Cammie Zodrow. Their stories remind us why protecting dolphins in the wild is so important, and why supporting lifelong care is essential for animals that cannot be released.
Today also marks Izzy’s 11th birthday! 🎉 We’re grateful to celebrate this milestone with her and provide the specialized care she needs, thanks to the supporters who make our mission possible.
