WTHR | IU opens investigation into former athletic team doctor @WTHR13News | Uploaded 1 week ago | Updated 17 hours ago
A former Indiana University men's basketball player says an athletic doctor gave him inappropriate and unnecessary prostate and rectal exams during his annual physicals.

IU has now launched an investigation into the allegations and is asking other student-athletes who may have been abused to come forward.

Dr. Brad Bomba Sr. was a contracted IU athletics doctor for several decades. His work with the team ended in the late 1990s.

The student who came forward said the abuse by Bomba was "a practice for all basketball student-athletes" assigned to him, according to a statement released by Indiana University on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
