Apex Legends Mobile is shutting down after just 8 short months on the market. According to themselves they were no longer able to deliver the high quality that they expect of themselves... But in reality it was likely just that the game brought in way less money than expected.
As collateral damage, Battlefield Mobile has also been canceled, it had been soft launched in 5 different countries already but it is now ending development and never coming out in the rest of the world.
Looking at Fortnite's court files you could actually see Fortnite took 24 months to get a return on investment on new user acquisition... so it is a large time investment.
