Hundreds of corellas flying from the trees, and the sky going black well before nightfall. When fire came in Dimboola's direction in late January, it was quick and fierce.

A sudden wind change gave residents minimal time to act as fire tore through the nearby Little Desert National Park. Dimboola Fire Brigade members were ready to respond, assisting with evacuations and protecting their town.

With support and emergency crews coming from near and far to assist in the firefight, Dimboola's strength and the way the community have come together in the weeks following the fire have reinforced their collective resilience.
