Nestled in the Southern Grampians, the close-knit community of Mirranatwa was recently impacted by the Western Victorian fires, with two major bushfires hitting the town and its surrounds.

Despite the overwhelming reality of the situation, it was the help of others that helped Mirranatwa Fire Brigade Captain Jarrod Dark, and the entire community, stay positive.

With assistance coming from across Victoria and interstate to help in both the firefight and in the aftermath, Jarrod reflects on his gratitude for those who came from near and far.
