When Andrew was found unconscious by his wife and daughter after experiencing a cardiac arrest, CFA crews were first on scene, closely followed by Ambulance Victoria colleagues. For the Balzary family it was a fantastic result, with lifesaving CPR able to be administered as early as possible ❤️
Now, nine CFA brigades are trained and ready to respond to select medical Triple Zero (000) calls as part of the new Fire Medical Response program 🚒🚑
The joint initiative between CFA and Ambulance Victoria will see CFA brigades dispatched simultaneously to cardiac arrests with the nearest ambulance.
In total, 50 CFA brigades across the state will be trained and equipped to provide life-sustaining support.
